When the Nazis occupied Norway, they started the Lebensborn program, which was aimed at increasing the world’s Assyrian population. As part of this, unmarried women will receive financial support for children born to anonymous German fathers. The children will be sent for adoption, mostly to German parents. In My Child Lebensborn, players take on the role of a child’s surrogate parent named Klaus or Karin, depending on their gender. They should take care of the child’s general needs, such as food and hygiene, and make sure he or she is happy. Each of these three factors hunger, hygiene, happiness is shown on a separate scale. Players must make many choices that affect the child’s well-being and development such as deciding how they spend their free time, and even the parent’s own situation.
